As I’ve said before – I really love felt. While at the Renegade Craft Fair this past weekend I saw tons of yarn and lots of garments as well as tons of stationary too – one of the most technically interesting though was Heartfelt Studios scarves.
At first glance, from afar, I thought that they might be painted silk – when I got closer I realized they were done with my new favorite technique – needle felting.
Founder and designer, Jill Harrop lays out the patterns themselves, which look sort of like Japanese brush painting and needle felts them to various types of pre-made scarves – many of which are cashmere that I saw.
Jill also makes easy to wear sweaters, dresses and tops but the creativity she shows with her scarves is what I’m more interested in.
They’re all so beautiful.
This is definitely a technique my friends may soon start to receive for birthday and holiday gifts!
